How do I insert a sim card into my prepaid phone?

I just bought a prepaid phone and I have to insert the sim card into my phone. I’ve tryed so many times. My two friends have tryed but it keeps saying insert Sim card. Does anybody know why this is happening? This phone is "T-moble"
